Lady Liberty. Another must see for anyone visiting New York. This monument was given to America from France as a symbol of friendship, freedom, and democracy. It was originally copper, but weathering of the statue resulted in the green color it is today. The Statue of Liberty’s overall height is 305 feet, 6 inches. She has 154 steps from the pedestal to her head. There are 7 rays on her crown, one for each of the seven continents.
