Ellis Island

Ellis Island used to be America’s busiest immigrant inspection station from 1892-1924. It is now an Immigration Museum. Ellis Island was an “Island of Hope” for many, but for every few handful of immigrants who were denied entry or separated from their families, it became an “Island of Tears.” This museum is a very educational experience. You can get there by the same ferry that takes you to Ellis Island.
